Zazie O. Beetz was conceived in Berlin on November 21, 1991. Her father was an German cabinet maker who emigrated in the United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is her mother who works as a South African American social worker. Jennifer Aniston attended the same high-school as Beetz. Beetz studied French at Skidmore College after graduating LaGuardia. After college she immediately auditioned and was selected for the part of Van in Atlanta. Beetz is a native of Berlin with an ethnically mixed German father and an African American mother. They both grew up in New York. Zazie has performed in theaters within the community as well as on stage in New york since her childhood. Zazie discovered that she liked acting when she was at high school. Zendaya was able to land the Disney Channel breakout role thanks her impressive dancing skills. In 2010, the actress and dancer finally had her first role of note, when Bella Thorne cast her as Rocky Blue. Zendaya became a vegetarian at the age of 11 after she walked past a slaughterhouse while on a road trip with her dad. PEOPLE told them that she stated: "I thought all those animals were horrifically cruel being packed into there and just waiting to be killed. It was shocking to think that's the way I'd gotten my meat!" Since then, she has been on an all-vegan diet.
